El centro es definido en funci\u00f3n de la realidad gremial y su marco urbano. Utrera aparece descrita en el contexto territorial, con el an\u00e1lisis del fen\u00f3meno de la comarcalizaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica.  complementariamente se hace breve alusi\u00f3n a los clientes y a las motivaciones que le conducen a adquirir o contratar obras de arte.  se concreta con los encargos efectuados por los entes de promoci\u00f3n locales, quienes son descritos por estamentos.  en principio se estudia el funcionamiento de la iglesia institucional, el arzobispado y sus redes de control. En este aspecto ocupa un lugar preferente las parroquias de santiago y santa mar\u00eda, que mantienen una disputa por la hegemon\u00eda local y que trasciende a la historiograf\u00eda. A continuaci\u00f3n se alude a la producci\u00f3n art\u00edstica destinada a los conventos, tanto los existentes como los desaparecidos. Las cofrad\u00edas y su arte ocupan un lugar importante, tanto como el estudio de la sociedad laica.  en este apartado se tratan todos los estamentos, desde las m\u00e1s altas esferas hasta el pueblo, sin olvidar el \u00f3rgano de control popular, el concejo.
