Partimos en el cap. I de la reconstrucci\u00f3n biogr\u00e1fica de la vida del poeta desde su exilio a am\u00e9rica en 1936 hasta su muerte en 1958. En el cap. Ii analizamos la vinculaci\u00f3n de j. R. Jim\u00e9nez con lo religioso, valorando la influencia del modernismo en su cosmovisi\u00f3n l\u00edrica. Nos detenemos en el estudio del influjo de kempis, loisy y krause en su obra. En el cap. Iii nos aproximamos al concepto de s\u00edmbolo y a la est\u00e9tica de lo imaginario. A continuaci\u00f3n procedemos a la ex\u00e9gesis de los s\u00edmbolos m\u00e1s importantes del libro: fuego, agua, aire y tierra.  procedemos en seguida al an\u00e1lisis tem\u00e1tico simb\u00f3lico de los 57 poemas del volumen.
