Se ha estudiado la morfolog\u00eda optica mediante el ajuste de las isofotas por contornos elipticos, encontrandose que hasta un 70% de los objetos presenta distorsiones tipicas de sistemas en interaccion gravitatoria. Se ha comparado esta muestra con otras de radio galaxias de alta luminosidad y elipticas no emisoras. Las de alta luminosidad muestran signos de interaccion con sistemas ricos en gas, a diferencia de los de esta muestra, que interaccionan con objetos pobres en gas. Se ha detectado que la diferencia fundamental entre las elipticas normales y las que presentan radio emision es que las primeras no presentan signos de estar interactuando. El resto de las propiedades son similares a las presentadas por las radio galaxias de baja luminosidad (contenido y distribucion estelar y medio interestelar). Se concluye que cualquier eliptica puede generar la actividad radio, si tiene gas suficiente para alimentar la radio fuente y si puede experimentar colision con alguna otra
