El estudio acerca de la reactividad de los mismos frente a diferentes agentes alquilantes ha permitido acceder a derivados c-alquilados en posici\u00f3n alfa al heterociclo. Adem\u00e1s, la reducci\u00f3n selectiva del doble enlace enam\u00ednico y posterior desprotecci\u00f3n de la funci\u00f3n carbox\u00edlca conduce, con buenos rendimientos, a beta-amino\u00e1cidos libres. Ambos procedimientos (alquilaci\u00f3n y reducci\u00f3n) pueden llevarse a cabo siguiendo secuencias one-flask, siendo \u00e9stas las m\u00e1s adecuadas ya que son r\u00e1pidas, eliminan los pasos intermedios de aislamiento y purificaci\u00f3n y, adem\u00e1s, proporcionan rendimientos superiores a los que se obtienen cuando la reacci\u00f3n transcurre por etapas. Por otra parte, se ha estudiado el comportamiento de derivados beta-enamino\u00e1cidos frente a derivados reactivos del \u00e1cido carb\u00f3nico, lo que ha permitido sintetizar derivados de
