Este modelo permite realizar un an\u00e1lisis alternativo de las actuales campa\u00f1as antitabaco. Se considera que las campa\u00f1as antitabaco, adem\u00e1s de basar su eficacia en transmitir la informaci\u00f3n en contra del consumo de tabaco, pueden mejorar su impacto si prestan una mayor atenci\u00f3n a los aspectos socio-relacionales del contexto de influencia.  concretamente, la influencia que obtienen las fuentes de alto estatus (fuentes con poder o credibilidad) en la intencion de dejar de fumar de los fumadores aumenta cuando se respeta la identidad de \u00e9stos (por ejemplo, no se les impone el punto de vista antitabaco se aceptan sus razones para fumar o se les deja fumar), pero la disminuyen en el caso contrario. En definitiva, el fumador est\u00e1 menos dispuesto a cuestionarse su comportamiento y su identidad cuando el contexto de influencia es asim\u00e9trico, es decir, cuando le impone la aceptaci\u00f3n
