Teresa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Los genes msn2 y msn4 de saccharomyces cerevisiae fueron aislados como supresores en multicopia de snf1p, quinasa implicada en la desrepresi\u00f3n de genes reprimidos por catabolito. Msn2 y msn4 codifican prote\u00ednas con dos dedos de cinc en su extremo carboxilo terminal, motivo t\u00edpico de uni\u00f3n a dna. En este trabajo se demuestra que msn2 y msn4 desempe\u00f1an un papel importante en la respuesta a estr\u00e9s de levadura. La doble mutaci\u00f3n de estos genes produce un fenotipo de sensibilidad general al estr\u00e9s. Su sobre-expresi\u00f3n confiere a las c\u00e9lulas mayor capacidad de resistencia a situaciones de estr\u00e9s. El defecto de resistencia del doble mutante msn2 msn4 se debe a la expresi\u00f3n defectuosa de diversos genes de respuesta a estr\u00e9s. Estos genes est\u00e1n regulados por la uni\u00f3n directa de msn2p y msn4p a los elementos stre presentes en los promotores de los mismos.  msn2p y msn4p se unen in vitro e in vivo a la secuencia stre, que regula la respuesta a m\u00faltiples estreses.
