Se han estudiado estos componentes en la bacteria l\u00e1ctica lactobacillus casei, un microorganismo empleado en numerosas fermentaciones alimentarias. Primeramente se abord\u00f3 la clonaci\u00f3n del gen ptsh, que codifica la prote\u00edna hpr. Se complement\u00f3 un mutante ptsh de escherichia coli con una genoteca de l. Casei. La secuenciaci\u00f3n de uno de los clones, revel\u00f3 la presencia de un gen con homolog\u00eda a pria de e. Coli, que participa en la replicaci\u00f3n del adn.  los experimentos de fosforilaci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas, transporte de fructosa y mutag\u00e9nesis dirigida, han permitido concluir que la complementaci\u00f3n es debida a la titulaci\u00f3n del represor cra por una secuencia situada en la pauta de lectura del gen clonado, lo que produce la presencia constitutiva de la prote\u00edna dtp del sistema pts de fructosa, que puede suplir la falta de hpr. Se ha aislado el gen ccpa de l. Casei. El mutante ccpa de l.  casei present\u00f3 un crecimiento reducido y una falta de rc de algunas actividades enzim\u00e1ticas como la n- acetilglucosaminidasa y la fosfo-beta-galactosidasa, codificada por lacg, adem\u00e1s de una desregulaci\u00f3n en la expresi\u00f3n de actividades del metabolismo de carbohidratos, como la fosfofructoquinasa, aldolasa, piruvato quinasa, acetato quinasa y pts-glucosa. La regulaci\u00f3n del oper\u00f3n de utilizaci\u00f3n de lactosa de l.  casei (lactegf), se ha caracterizado a nivel molecular.  la expresi\u00f3n del oper\u00f3n est\u00e1 regulada por dos mecanismos de rc. El primero es dependiente de la prote\u00edna ccpa y su secuencia de uni\u00f3n al adn en la zona promotora, el segundo precisa el transporte del az\u00facar represor por el sistema pts.
