Los barnices ensayados han sido, principalmente, los de poliuretano y los ultravioleta. Se ha estudiado como influyen en su comportamiento combustible: i) tama\u00f1o de la aplicaci\u00f3n, ii)naturaleza del cataqlizador, iii)naturaleza del disolvente, iv)naturaleza de los aditivos retardantes. El micraje s\u00ed influye en el comportamiento combustible, que no se ve afectado ni por el catalizador ni por los disolventes. Respecto a los aditivos retardantes: i) deben emplearse en forma l\u00edquida, ii) los fosfohalogenados y el fosfato de tricloropropilo mejoran el comportamiento frente al fuego en el caso de los poliuretanos, mientras que son el dibromopentilglicol y el polifosfato am\u00f3nico los m\u00e1s adecuados en los barnices ultravioleta.
