Asi como en el estudio bioquimico de la miniparamiosina.  el gen de la paramiosina posee diez exones, nueve que codifican la paramiosina y tres de la miniparamiosina, siendo los dos ultimos comunes a ambas. El primer exon de miniparamiosina esta en el interior del gen. Se han secuenciado las regiones promotoras y se han analizado las secuencias, intentando identificar consensos para factores de transcripcion.  la miniparamiosina es un dimero unido por pces disulfuro, que posee distintas isoformas con distintos puntos isoelectricos y movilidad electroforetica, todas ellas fosforiladas. Es una proteina del filamento grueso, especifica del tejido muscular adulto.
