Hum.Reprod. 2, 717-724) esta tesis doctoral fu\u00e9 llevada a cabo para demostrar si una terapia antioxidante ejerc\u00eda un efecto beneficioso frente a los efectos delet\u00e9reos producidos por el envejecimiento materno y el envejecimiento post-ovulatorio de los ovocitos sobre ovocitos\/conceptos de mam\u00edfero, siendo el rat\u00f3n el modelo animal empleado. La suplementaci\u00f3n de la dieta con vitaminas c y e previno el descenso de la tasa de ovulaci\u00f3n tras estimulaci\u00f3n ov\u00e1rica ex\u00f3gena y el retraso en la divisi\u00f3n celular in vitro de los conceptos 81 h tr\u00e1s inseminaci\u00f3n, aunque no ejerci\u00f3 ning\u00fan efecto en la prevenci\u00f3n de la p\u00e9rdida de viabilidad asociada con la edad post-ovulatoria del ovocito.
