El primero consiste  en un seguimiento diario de la evoluci\u00f3n de la masa vegetal mediante im\u00e1genes de ndvi (\u00edndice de vegetaci\u00f3n diferencia normalizada) calculadas a partir de los canales 1 y 2 de los sat\u00e9lites noaa-11 y noaa-14. El segundo objetivo es clasificar los usos del suelo mediante im\u00e1genes noaa-avhrr.  para el primer objetivo hemos desarrollado un \u00edndice de sequ\u00eda que nos permite detectar de una forma rutinaria las zonas en las que la vegetaci\u00f3n tiene un desarrollo favorable y aquellas en las que la vegetaci\u00f3n sufre algunos problemas. Tambi\u00e9n en esta l\u00ednea hemos desarrollado otro \u00edndice llamado \u00edndice de verdor, por su fuerte correlacion con el verdor del campo, que nos permite seguir la evoluci\u00f3n diaria de la masa vegetal en tiempo real.  mediante las curvas de evoluci\u00f3n de este \u00edndice en diferentes a\u00f1os y para diferentes cubiertas vegetales en las comunidades aut\u00f3nomas de castilla y le\u00f3n, Valencia, andaluc\u00eda, castilla la mancha y extremadura se han caracterizado y comprobado los ciclos fenologicos de seis especies agr\u00edcolas, cinco especies forestales y las praderas.  el segundo objetivo consiste en clasificar los usos del suelo de una zona piloto en el sur de la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica formada por las comarcas de cadiz, malaga y sevilla. Se han utilizado im\u00e1genes de ndvi, de temperaturas de superficie e im\u00e1genes del albedo del canal 1 de los sat\u00e9lites noaa-avhrr.
