Albicans a los implantes m\u00e9dicos de materiales pl\u00e1sticos es un requisito esencial para el desarrollo de candidiasis asociadas a la utilizaci\u00f3n de estos dispositivos. Una de las aproximaciones para bloquear la adhesi\u00f3n es la aplicaci\u00f3n de anticuerpos monoclonales contra las adhesinas de c. Albicans.  en este trabajo, hemos aislado y caracterizado las adhesinas de c. Albicans que median su adhesi\u00f3n al poliestireno y a resinas de metacrilato de las pr\u00f3tesis orales como manoprote\u00ednas de 60, 68, 200 y superior a 200 kda. Estas adhesinas se localizan fundamentalmente en la capa fibrilar de los tubos germinales, son liberadas al medio de cultivo y su expresi\u00f3n aumenta cuando el hongo se desarrolla in vivo. Estas mol\u00e9culas son capaces de unirse al poliestireno mediante interacciones hidr\u00f3fobas y presentan cierta homolog\u00eda antig\u00e9nica con otras adhesinas microbianas y con algunas mol\u00e9culas del hospedador humano.  tras la inmunizaci\u00f3n con estas mol\u00e9culas, obtuvimos el anticuerpo monoclonal (acm) 21e6 que, junto con otros anticuerpos monoclonales y policlonales, utilizamos para determinar su efecto sobre la filamentaci\u00f3n y la adhesi\u00f3n de c. Albicans al poliestireno in vitro. Entre todos ellos, \u00fanicamente los que reconoc\u00edan alg\u00fan epitopo presente en las adhesinas de c. Albicans inhib\u00edan o incrementaban la adhesi\u00f3n, independientemente de su capacidad para afectar a la filamentaci\u00f3n. Las adhesinas aisladas de la superficie pl\u00e1stica provocaban un aumento de la adhesi\u00f3n.
