Una de las aplicaciones de inter\u00e9s de estos reactores es la alimentaci\u00f3n de uno de los reactantes de forma distribuida a lo largo de un lecho de catalizador. Esta aplicaci\u00f3n resulta ventajosa en las reacciones donde una concentraci\u00f3n baja de uno de los reactantes mejora la selectividad al producto deseado. La deshidrogenaci\u00f3n oxidativa de butano (odb) se presenta como una reacci\u00f3n alternativa interesante frente a los procesos cl\u00e1sicos de reacciones de deshidrogenaci\u00f3n dada su nula limitaci\u00f3n termodin\u00e1mica, su car\u00e1cter exot\u00e9rmico, una menor temperatura de activaci\u00f3n y una menor formaci\u00f3n de coque y productos de craqueo. La utilizaci\u00f3n del reactor de membrana como distribuidor de ox\u00edgeno en esta reacci\u00f3n ser\u00eda beneficiosa ya que: 1) reducir\u00eda la presi\u00f3n parcial de ox\u00edgeno en el lecho, con lo que se producir\u00eda en menor medida la oxidaci\u00f3n total. 2) la generaci\u00f3n de calor ser\u00eda m\u00e1s homog\u00e9nea a lo largo del lecho evit\u00e1ndose puntos calientes y situaciones fuera de control (\u00abrunaway\u00bb). 3) se trabajar\u00eda en condiciones m\u00e1s seguras, al estar fuera de los l\u00edmites de explosividad.  4) se puede controlar el estado de oxidaci\u00f3n del catalizador, lo que resulta de inter\u00e9s puesto que en esta reacci\u00f3n existe un grado \u00f3ptimo de oxido-reducci\u00f3n del catalizador.  en este trabajo se ha comparado para un catalizador v-mg-o, en la deshidrogenaci\u00f3n oxidativa (odh) de butano, el uso de un reactor de membrana inerte (rmi) como distribuidor de ox\u00edgeno frente a un reactor cl\u00e1sico de lecho fijo; encontr\u00e1ndose el rmi ventajoso en la obtenci\u00f3n de una mayor selectividad al producto deseado, mayor seguridad en la operaci\u00f3n y un mayor rango de operabilidad.
