Para ello, se estudi\u00f3 la liberaci\u00f3n de (3h)-ach y (3h)-da utilizando la t\u00e9cnica de superfusi\u00f3n de sinaptosomas y se valor\u00f3 el efecto de dos agonistas con afinidad por los receptores d2 y d3 de la da, el quimpirol y el 7-oh-dpa1, y el haloperidol, un antagonista de los receptores de la subfamilia d2 de la da. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que ambos agonistas inhibian la liberaci\u00f3n basal de (3h)-ach a trav\u00e9s de la misma poblaci\u00f3n homog\u00e9nea de receptores.  adem\u00e1s, estudios de fijaci\u00f3n de radioligandos, indican que los receptores presin\u00e1pticos en el estriado ser\u00edan del subtipo d2. La activaci\u00f3n de los receptores d2 modul\u00f3 la liberaci\u00f3n de (3h)-ach con igual eficacia en condiciones basales que tras despolarizar la preparaci\u00f3n sinaptosomal con k+ 15 mm o con bloqueantes de canales de k+, por lo que el mecanismo implicado no ser\u00eda dependiente del potencial de la membrana y por tanto no implicar\u00eda canales de ca2+ dependientes de voltaje.  adem\u00e1s, tampoco los canales de k+ sensibles a 4-aminopiridina, tetraetilamonio y quinina estar\u00edan implicados en la activaci\u00f3n de los receptores d2. Por \u00faltimo, se observ\u00f3 que el quimpirol inhib\u00eda la liberaci\u00f3n basal de (3h)-da a trav\u00e9s de los receptores d2 de la da.  no obstante, el 7-oh-dpat a bajas concentraciones inhibi\u00f3 la liberaci\u00f3n de (3h)-da a trav\u00e9s de los receptores d2.  en cambio, concentraciones superiores de este agonista aumentaban la liberaci\u00f3n de (3h)-da. El efecto facilitador de 7-oh-dpat fue insaturable pero reversible y no era dependiente de la presencia de ca2+ extracelular.
