En el presente trabajo, y mediante experimentos de \u00abprimer extensi\u00f3n\u00bb y deleciones seriadas se ha identificado el promotor del gen reca. Estos experimentos han permitido demostrar que la posici\u00f3n +1 corresponde a una (a) adenina situada a 73 nucle\u00f3tidos del inicio de traducci\u00f3n de dicho gen- as\u00ed mismo, hemos procedido a la identificaci\u00f3n de la regi\u00f3n responsable de la inducci\u00f3n del gen citado. Para ello, se han llevado acab\u00f3 en primer lugar una serie de experimentos de retraso electrofor\u00e9tico del promotor reca en presencia de extractos celulares crudos de r. Capsulatus. Gracias a ellos, hemos podido comprobar la existencia de una prote\u00edna, diferente de la rna polimerasa, que de forma espec\u00edfica se une al promotor de dicho gen. A partir de estos datos, y tras introducir una serie de mutaciones in vitro hemos demostrado que la uni\u00f3n de dicha prote\u00edna tiene lugar en los motivos gttcn7gtac y gaacn7gaac, separadas por 11 pares de bases, y cuyos nucleotidos centrales se encuentran en las posiciones -21 y+26, respectivamente. Estos motivos son tambi\u00e9n necesarios para la normal inducci\u00f3n del gen reca, de forma que cuanto se mutagenizan dos submotivos, la expresi\u00f3n de dicho gen se vuelve constitutiva. Estos datos ponen de manifiesto que la proteina que se une a los motivos citados es un represor.  finalmente, se ha aislado el gen uvra de r. Capsulatus y se demostrado que es inducible por lesiones en el dna.  tambi\u00e9n se ha demostrado la presencia en su promotor del motivo gttcn7gttc al cual se une la misma prote\u00edna represora que controla la transcripci\u00f3n del gen reca.  el conjunto de estos resultados nos permite afirmar que el motivo gttcn7gttc es la caja sos de rhodobacter capsulatus.
