El estudio comprende la sintesis y sintetizacion de los materiales y su caracterizacion desde el punto de vista de las propiedades termicas y electricas. Continua con la preparacion de estos materiales en forma de electrodos porosos depositados sobre un electrolito solido de circonia tetragonal. A continuacion se caracteriza el sistema catodo electrolito estudiando la reaccion de reduccion de oxigeno. De la relacion entre el comportamiento electrico y la estructura de defectos de las composiciones (la,sr)mno3 se ha elaborado un nuevo modelo de defectos en el que las cargas introducidas al sustituir con sr se compensan por formacion de vacantes de oxigeno. Este modelo tambien es capaz de explicar las diferencias observadas en el comportamiento electroquimico de las composiciones con contenidos altos de estroncio en comparacion con las de contenidos
