Se han utilizado como sistemas modelo el gen dag a y los genes tempranos de la ruta biosintetica de actinorrodina, ambos de s.  coelicolor.  se ha identificado un nuevo promotor en el gen dag a, se ha completado su secuencia y localizado el terminador de la transcripcion.
