Este enzima posee 6 sitios de uni\u00f3n de nucle\u00f3tidos (atp o adp) y para su funcionamiento es necesaria la presencia de mg2+.  en el presente trabajo se ha analizado el papel de los nucle\u00f3tidos en la estabilidad t\u00e9rmica de dos atp sintetasas: el complejo f1 aislado de mitocondrias (mf1), y el enzima completo de la bacteria term\u00f3fila ps3 (tf0f1). Las t\u00e9cnicas utilizadas han sido calorimetr\u00eda diferencial, espectroscopia infrarroja y cin\u00e9tica de intercambio hidr\u00f3geno-deuterio. La desnaturalizaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica de las atp sintetasas es irreversible; se han ajustado modelos cin\u00e9ticos que explican las medidas calorim\u00e9tricas y de inactivaci\u00f3n t\u00e9rmica. En lo relativo al efecto de los nucle\u00f3tidos, su uni\u00f3n a los sitios espec\u00edficos del enzima estabiliza tanto el complejo mf1 como el enzima completo tf0f1, causando un aumento en la temperatura de desnaturalizaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como una mayor compactaci\u00f3n de su estructura. En ambos casos la presencia de mg2+ disminuye el efecto estabilizador causado por los nucle\u00f3tidos. Los cambios en estabilidad t\u00e9rmica en funci\u00f3n de la uni\u00f3n de nucle\u00f3tidos y de mg2+ se han correlacionado con las diferentes conformaciones del enzima, correspondientes a diferentes
