Como adsorbatos se han usado metales de transici\u00f3n 3d, titanio, hierro y n\u00edquel, que han sido evaporados por sublimaci\u00f3n de filamentos de alta pureza sobre sustratos policristalinos de aluminio a temperatura ambiente. Para determinar los modos de crecimiento del adsorbato sobre el sustrato se ha utilizado por primera vez la espectroscop\u00eda de fotoelectrones resuelta en \u00e1ngulo (arxps) complementada con iss, habi\u00e9ndose encontrado en todos los casos la formaci\u00f3n de compuestos intermet\u00e1licos en la intercara durante la primera etapa de la cin\u00e9tica de crecimiento.  posteriormente se ha estudiado la oxidaci\u00f3n de la superficie formada a temperatura ambiente y bajas presiones de ox\u00edgeno, habi\u00e9ndose determinado en cada caso los distintos tipos de \u00f3xidos formados as\u00ed como los mecanismos de oxidaci\u00f3n. De esta manera se ha obtenido informaci\u00f3n din\u00e1mica de los procesos de formaci\u00f3n y reacciones en las intercaras, as\u00ed como sobre su oxidaci\u00f3n que dif\u00edcilmente podr\u00eda
