Jes\u00fas <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El gen de la apolipoprote\u00edna e (apoe) es considerado el principal factor gen\u00e9tico de susceptibilidad para la enfermedad de alzheimer de tipo senil. Una isoforma com\u00fan de la prote\u00edna apoe (apoe4) est\u00e1 claramente asociada al desarrollo de la dolencia, aunque no es necesaria ni suficiente para padecerla. Apoe es un gen estrechamente regulado por multitud de elementos diet\u00e9ticos, hormonales y propios del crecimiento. Sin embargo, no existen trabajos previos sobre la posible existencia de mutaciones en su regi\u00f3n reguladora que podr\u00edan ser responsables de variaciones en la expresi\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna.  el trabajo presentado en la presente tesis doctoral incluye el desarrollo de t\u00e9cnicas que permiten el an\u00e1lisis molecular de la regi\u00f3n reguladora proximal del gen apoe empleando las t\u00e9cnicas de rflp y dgge. As\u00ed, ha sido posible identificar 4 puntos polim\u00f3rficos en la regi\u00f3n en estudio, as\u00ed como dos mutaciones puntuales.  adem\u00e1s, mediante dichas t\u00e9cnicas, se ha desarrollado un m\u00e9todo para el an\u00e1lisis de un elevado n\u00famero de muestras.  asimismo, se ha realizado un estudio epidemiol\u00f3gico mediante el cual se ha determinado que dos de las variantes encontradas est\u00e1n asociadas a un incremento en el riesgo para desarrollar la enfermedad de alzheimer.  posteriormente, se ha estudiado la actividad transcripcional exhibida por cada una de las variantes al\u00e9licas del promotor apoe encontradas, demostrando que las variantes al\u00e9licas asociadas a un mayor riesgo para la enfermedad de alzheimer presentan mayor actividad transcripcional en c\u00e9lulas de astrocitoma humano.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral \u00ab<strong>Polimorfismos en la region reguladora del gen apoe y su asociacion con la enfermedad de alzheimer.<\/strong>\u00ab<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>T\u00edtulo de la tesis:<\/strong>\u00a0 Polimorfismos en la region reguladora del gen apoe y su asociacion con la enfermedad de alzheimer. <\/li>\n<li><strong>Autor:<\/strong>\u00a0  Artiga Gonzalez M.
