El gen extramacrochaetae durante el desarrollo del ala est\u00e1 interviniendo tanto durante el proceso de proliferaci\u00f3n, como durante el proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n. Este gen interviene en la definici\u00f3n de los diferentes valores posicionales de las c\u00e9lulas que constituyen el ala, en la definici\u00f3n de estos valores posicionales y relacionados con la funci\u00f3n de extramacrochaetae intervienen los genes que codifican para miembros de la ruta de las tirosina quinasas. Durante el proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n extramacrochaetae est\u00e1 promoviendo la diferenciaci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas como c\u00e9lulas de intervena, de forma conjunta con los genes net, plexus y blistered, y antag\u00f3nicamente a lo que hacen los genes miembros de la ruta de las tirosina quinasas, que promueven la diferenciaci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas como
