El eje b\u00e1sico de estos tetr\u00e1meros, como se ha confirmado por drx, es un anillo de ocho miembros donde alternan los \u00e1tomos de m(ii) y s, que puede conducir a la formaci\u00f3n de diastereois\u00f3meros que adem\u00e1s muestran diferente actividad.  los complejos derivados de tiosemicarbazona d\u00edmeros, mon\u00f3meros y especialmente los tetr\u00e1meros ciclometalados pueden ser considerados potenciales agentes anticancer\u00edgenos ya que poseen una actividad citot\u00f3xica similar al cisplatin y son activos en c\u00e9lulas resistentes a dicho f\u00e1rmaco produciendo una muerte celular espec\u00edfica por apoptosis a bajas concentraciones.
