Existen por tanto diferentes se\u00f1ales de transporte basadas en el par dileucina, que pueden ser reconocidas por maquinarias distintas dentro de la misma v\u00eda o en diferentes v\u00edas de transporte. El pentap\u00e9ptido \u00e1cido pdend del extremo final de glut4 juega un papel importante en la regulaci\u00f3n de la retenci\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna en el compartimento perinuclear de almacenamiento. El mutante glut4 d5 es transportado a los endosomas tard\u00edos por un mecanismo dependiente de la fosforilaci\u00f3n del residuo tyr502 la se\u00f1al basada en dileucina de glut4 es necesaria para acceder al compartimento de almacenamiento intracelular, mientras que la se\u00f1al basada en fenilcalanina act\u00faa a nivel de la membrana plasm\u00e1tica, introduciendo a los mutantes desviados
