Esto permiti\u00f3 analizar la funci\u00f3n de dos de los genes que participan en la ruta de bios\u00edntesis de puromicina en el propio organismo productor. El an\u00e1lisis de la funci\u00f3n de los genes naph y pur8 se realiz\u00f3 gracias a la obtenci\u00f3n de mutantes por deleci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica. Se obtuvieron mutantes simples y dobles en naph y pur8. Con los resultados que se tienen hasta el momento se puede inferir que la deleci\u00f3n de los primeros siete dominios transmembrana de pur8 afecta la funci\u00f3n de conferir resistencia a puromicina en el organismo productor.  con respecto a naph se determin\u00f3 que la deleci\u00f3n de este gen afecta la expresi\u00f3n de los restantes genes de la ruta incluyendo pur8 que est\u00e1 codificado en un transcrito monocistr\u00f3nico y que se transcribe en forma independiente de los genes de bios\u00edntesis.
