La primera parte consiste en un estudio sistem\u00e1tico de la absorci\u00f3n \u00f3ptica y de la luminiscencia del i\u00f3n pr elevado a 3+ en esta matriz. Se identifican dos centros \u00f3pticamente activos, relacionados con el n\u00famero de vacantes de ox\u00edgeno primeros vecinos, y se establece un modelo que explica la din\u00e1mica de la fluorescencia y la eficiencia cu\u00e1ntica de los niveles emisores de ambos centros.  tambi\u00e9n se caracterizan mecanismos de transferencia de energ\u00eda entre pares de iones, y entre \u00e9stos y la matriz.  en la segunda parte se estudia el efecto de tratamientos termorreductores, estableci\u00e9ndose que este tratamiento induce la precipitaci\u00f3n de impurezas cati\u00f3nicas en esta matriz. Mediante microscop\u00eda tem se caracterizan precipitados de cobre, n\u00edquel y cobalto met\u00e1lico, y mediante absorci\u00f3n \u00f3ptica sus temperaturas umbrales de precipitaci\u00f3n, que permiten establecer una relaci\u00f3n entre la temperatura umbral de precipitaci\u00f3n y el radio i\u00f3nico de la impureza precipitada.
