Su funci\u00f3n est\u00e1 relacionada con la translocaci\u00f3n del dna durante los procesos de empaquetamiento e inyecci\u00f3n del dna viral, y por tanto presenta dominios de uni\u00f3n con dicho \u00e1cido nucleico.  adem\u00e1s tambi\u00e9n presenta regiones de interacci\u00f3n con un rna (prna) que resulta necesario para la uni\u00f3n posterior con el dna. En este trabajo se estudia la interacci\u00f3n con ambos tipos de \u00e1cidos nucleicos y tambi\u00e9n se localizan los dominios de uni\u00f3n en la estructura tridimensional del conector. Para situar estas regiones en la estructura cuaternaria de la prote\u00edna, se emplean anticuerpos obtenidos siguiendo tres estrategias diferentes. Por un lado se utilizaron anticuerpos policlonales obtenidos mediante inmunizaci\u00f3n con p\u00e9ptidos, y tambi\u00e9n anticuerpos monoclonales. Por otro, se desarroll\u00f3 una nueva metodolog\u00eda que permite la purificaci\u00f3n de anticuerpos policlonales monoespec\u00edficos de secuencia a partir de un policlonal general frente al conector completo. Con los diferentes anticuerpos se procedi\u00f3 a la obtenci\u00f3n de complejos que se analizaron mediante microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica de transmisi\u00f3n, y tras procesar diferentes cantidades de las im\u00e1genes obtenidas resultaron medias finales en las que se pudo definir la zona de reconocimiento estableciendo la relaci\u00f3n secuencia-estructura que se
