Hemos desarrollado un modelo para la respuesta transitoria de los sensores de capa gruesa de \u00f3xido de esta\u00f1o en presencia de un \u00fanico gas. Dicho modelo ha sido extendido para contemplar el caso de inyecciones sucesivas del mismo gas.  . El an\u00e1lisis del modelo anterior nos ha permitido la identificaci\u00f3n de dos nuevos par\u00e1metros caracter\u00edsticos de cada par sensor\/gas e independientes de la concentraci\u00f3n, susceptibles de conferir mayor selectividad a los sensores.  . Hemos desarrollado dos modelos complementarios que describen el comportamiento transitorio de la conductancia el\u00e9ctrica de los sensores en presencia de mezclas gaseosas. En el primero hemos considerado que la respuesta de los sensores a un gas es independiente del resto de gases que componen la mezcla. El segundo (v\u00e1lido para concentraciones gaseosas m\u00e1s elevadas) considera la existencia de interacciones entre los gases a trav\u00e9s de la modificaci\u00f3n del equilibrio de adsorci\u00f3n.  . Los modelos anteriores nos han permitido obtener un nuevo conjunto de par\u00e1metros caracter\u00edsticos de cada sensor y gas presente en la mezcla.  . Hemos validado los modelos te\u00f3ricos desarrollados mediante la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la respuesta transitoria de sensores comerciales de capa gruesa de \u00f3xido de esta\u00f1o. Hemos comprobado que los modelos describen adecuadamente el comportamiento experimental de los sensores en presencia de un \u00fanico gas o de mezclas gaseosas.  . Para evaluar la mejora en la selectividad conseguida a trav\u00e9s de la caracterizaci\u00f3n din\u00e1mica de los sensores, hemos utilizado una agrupaci\u00f3n de sensores juntamente a t\u00e9cnicas de reconocimiento de patrones.
