Esta tesis doctoral se centra en el estudio de los materiales compuestos de matriz cer\u00e1mica basados en el clinker portland, en dos de sus variedades:  gris y blanco. Como refuerzos o aditivos se utilizaron ai2o3, mgo, sio2, (industrial y de alta pureza) y caf2 (con propiedades mineralizadoras y fundentes), con adiciones del 3,6 y 9%, dando un total de 32 composiciones a evaluar.  estos materiales se procesaron, tras una etapa de mezcla en molino de bolas, mediante compactaci\u00f3n isost\u00e1tica en fr\u00edo (cip) y sinterizaci\u00f3n en aire. La temperatura de sinterizaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptima para todos los materiales estudiados se evalu\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de dilatometr\u00eda diferencial y an\u00e1lisis de las curvas de sinterabilidad.  se evalu\u00f3 el comportamiento mec\u00e1nico (resistencia a flexi\u00f3n en tres puntos y dureza), la fiabilidad (a trav\u00e9s del m\u00f3dulo de weibull) y la resistencia al desgaste, mediante ensayos del tipo \u00abpin-on-disk\u00bb. Se realiz\u00f3 un amplio estudio microgr\u00e1fico mediante microscop\u00eda \u00f3ptica y electr\u00f3nica de barrido (meb) con an\u00e1lisis semicuantitativo, con objeto de investigar las distintas fases y las posibles reacciones que pudiesen tener lugar entre los distintos aditivos y la matriz. Asimismo se pudo determinar mediante an\u00e1lisis de imagen las distintas porosidades obtenidas para estos materiales, analizando su influencia sobre las propiedades
