En los concentradores solares el \u00e1rea de c\u00e9lulas se sustituye por un elemento \u00f3ptico de bajo coste que concentra la luz solar sobre un \u00e1rea menor de c\u00e9lulas. Dentro de esta tesis se ha desarrollado un sistema fotovoltaico de concentraci\u00f3n basado en reflectores cilindro parab\u00f3licos. Esta soluci\u00f3n ha alcanzado un notable desarrollo para aplicaciones termosolares y ninguno para aplicaciones fotovoltaicas.  en esta tesis se han desarrollado reflectores de alta eficiencia (90%), desde su dise\u00f1o te\u00f3rico hasta la definici\u00f3n de procesos de fabricaci\u00f3n y su posterior industrializaci\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n se han desarrollado estructuras mec\u00e1nicas de seguimiento de gran tama\u00f1o 70-80 m capaces de trabajar con precisiones por debajo de 0.5, defini\u00e9ndose un procedimiento anal\u00edtico para su evaluaci\u00f3n. Se desarrolla adem\u00e1s un sistema de control de punter\u00eda solar basado en un nuevo concepto en este campo:  el aprendizaje continuo. En esta tesis se recogen adem\u00e1s los resultados operativos del prototipo de 24 m instalado en la universidad y se referencia la instalaci\u00f3n de una planta de 480 kwp en tenerife.
