Tras un an\u00e1lisis de la panor\u00e1mica actual acerca de las arquitecturas integradas orientadas a la compresi\u00f3n de v\u00eddeo, se propone y define una arquitectura original, denominada mvip.  elegido un subconjunto del algoritmo de codificaci\u00f3n mpeg-2 (el lazo de codificaci\u00f3n para perfil principal, nivel principal), se particulariza la arquitectura general propuesta y se realiza el dise\u00f1o vlsi del circuito correspondiente, basado en c\u00e9lulas y macroce]lulas de librer\u00eda, con tecnolog\u00eda cmos de 0.7 y doble capa del metal (atmel-es2), analizando los requesitos para su funcionamiento en tiempo real y demostrando la factibilidad de la integraci\u00f3n en un \u00fanico circuito vlsi. La alta eficiencia de esta arquitectura, conseguida gracias a su particular estructura y a la utilizaci\u00f3n de elemntos bottom-up dentro de una metodolog\u00eda top-down, se complementa con el
