Se cloro y se secuencio un fragmento de 2,8 kb donde se han identificado dos orf. La orf1 de 531 al que hemos denominado hl1, que codifica la proteina hl1 y cuya mutacion provoca la perdida de la movilidad. La orf2 de 1252 pares de base que se denomino g13. Hl1 es una proteina de 18 kda y se expresa constitutivamente durante las distintas fases de crecimiento y condiciones ambientales (oscuolaridad, ph y temperatura). La presencia del gen hl1 provoca un incremento en el nivel de superenrollamiento. El aumento de dosis genica del gen hl1 reprime la expresion de otros genes, y eso varia la expresion de proteinas.
