La presente tesis se halla centrada en el establecimiento de sistemas eficaces de transformaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica de un patr\u00f3n de c\u00edtricos, el citrange carrizo, actualmente el patr\u00f3n m\u00e1s utilizado en espa\u00f1a en el cultivo de c\u00edtricos, y de una variedad de naranjo dulce, pineapple. Esta especie representa aproximadamente el 70% de la producci\u00f3n global de c\u00edtricos en nuestro pa\u00eds.  mediante un estudio detallado de los factores implicados en las etapas de transformaci\u00f3n y de selecci\u00f3n\/regeneraci\u00f3n se ha conseguido, por una parte, aumentar considerablemente la frecuencia de transformaci\u00f3n y, por otra, reducir el n\u00famero de escapes de forma norable respecto a los procedimiento de transformaci\u00f3n de citrange carrizo que se hallaban descritos en la bibliograf\u00eda. El an\u00e1lisis y seguimiento peri\u00f3dico de las plantas transg\u00e9nicas de citrange obtenidas ha demostrado la integraci\u00f3n y expresi\u00f3n estable de los transgenes durante un periodo de tiempo de 1-4 a\u00f1os y bajo con condiciones ambientales naturales.  asimismo, la obtenci\u00f3n de plantas transg\u00e9nicas de citrange carrizo con el gen de halotolerancia hal2 ha confirmado la validez del m\u00e9todo para su utilizaci\u00f3n como herramienta de mejora gen\u00e9tica de dicho genotipo. Por otra parte, se ha conseguido transformar y regenerar plantas adultas de naranjo dulce pineapple, mediante el desarrollo de un procedimiento eficaz de transformaci\u00f3n de tejido juvenil de esta variedad y la aplicaci\u00f3n del mismo tejido adulto revigorizado, que presenta un mayor potencial organog\u00e9nico. Con ello se reduce enormemente el periodo de tiempo necesario para la evaluaci\u00f3n del fruto y la progenie en la transformaci\u00f3n de especies le\u00f1osas, como el naranjo
