La preparaci\u00f3n de alquilgluc\u00f3sidos se ha realizado por acetalizaci\u00f3n de la glucosa con un alcohol graso y por transacetalizaci\u00f3n de butilgluc\u00f3sidos con alcohol grasos en presencia de zeolitas \u00e1cidas. El estudio de la influencia de las caracter\u00edsticas fisicoqu\u00edmicas de estos materiales ha mostrado que los catalizadores m\u00e1s activos y selectivos son las zeolitas tridireccionales tal como la zeolita beta, con tama\u00f1o inferior a 0.35 um, y con elevado car\u00e1cter hidrof\u00f3bico, mostrando que para este catalizador existe una relaci\u00f3n si\/al \u00f3ptima que conjuga dos propiedades clave: el n\u00famero de centros \u00e1cidos y las caracter\u00edsticas de adsorci\u00f3n.  la obtenci\u00f3n de monoglic\u00e9ridos se ha llevado a cabo a trav\u00e9s del proceso de transesterificaci\u00f3n de un aceite vegetal con la glicerina en presencia de distintos catalizadores hetereg\u00e9neos b\u00e1sicos. Los resultados han mostrado que el \u00f3xido de magnesio y los \u00f3xidos mixtos de aluminio y magnesio derivados de hidrocalcita son catalizadores eficaces para llevar a cabo esta reacci\u00f3n dando lugar a altos rendimientos y selectividades a mono\u00e9steres.
