Se aplica el principio de la complementariedad metodol\u00f3gica. Estudio longitudinal (2 a\u00f1os consecutivos) en dos escuelas de costa rica, una rural y otra marginal. En este estudio se pretende evaluar los cambios del rendimiento acad\u00e9mico debidos a la aplicaci\u00f3n de metodolog\u00edas activas en la ense\u00f1anza de las ciencias de ni\u00f1os de 4 y 5 grado de primaria, por lo tanto la variable independiente es \u00abmetodolog\u00eda\u00bb y las variables dependientes \u00abrendimiento acad\u00e9mico\u00bb y \u00abconcepto de si mismo\u00bb porque en el programa experimental se pretende lograr algunas de las habilidades de los programas de ense\u00f1ar a pensar adem\u00e1s de desarrollar los contenidos program\u00e1ticos oficiales.
