Para ello se han utilizado aproximaciones metodologicas que permiten discernir con gran especificidad y resolucion cada una de estas familias de adn satelite. Entre ellas, destaca por su sensibilidad la hibridacion in situ fluorescente con oligonucleotidos altamente especificos de estas secuencias. Asi, se ha podido definir de una forma precisa la organizacion molecular de las regiones heterocromaticas del complemento, poniendose de manifiesto la heterogeneidad composicional de la heterocromatina en los distintos cromosomas, asi como la compartimentalizacion de secuencias en estas regiones. Por otro lado, se hace patente la utilidad de las sondas utilizadas, para estudios de citogenetica clinica, tanto de cromosomas metafasicos como de nucleos
