Se estudia la muerte hospitalaria desde un prisma de relaciones entre el personal sanitario, el enfermo y los familiares aglutinadas en torno al modelo de muerte digna. El proceso de vuelta a la normalidad se explica desde el desorden emocional y familiar del duelo que act\u00faa como motor inicial de la visita. Durante este ritual, algunos familiares atribuyen a sus difuntos una serie de cualidades humanas y de car\u00e1cter m\u00edstico y social, convirtiendo la tumba en un elemento reificador de la personalidad del fallecido. Los elementos materiales de unas 5.500 tumbas se han cuantificado de una manera sencilla y clara siendo de gran importancia para el estudio de la religiosidad popular. Es una obra bien articulada en la que se recoge abundante material etnogr\u00e1fico gracias a entrevistas sistem\u00e1ticas, encuestas y descripci\u00f3n de rituales.
