En su primera parte, analiza los tres niveles en los que la idea de igualdad es abordada en la obra \u00abteor\u00eda de la justicia\u00bb (1971). Estos tres niveles corresponden a las nociones de igualdad como regularidad, igualdad como distribuci\u00f3n econ\u00f3mica e igualdad como dimensi\u00f3n moral de la persona. En la segunda parte, el concepto de igualdad proveniente de la primera etapa de la obra de rawls es revisada en el contexto de su teor\u00eda ilustrada de la tolerancia plasmada en su obra el liberalismo pol\u00edtico (1993). En esta parte, se intenta demostrar que el paso de la llamada \u00abjusticia como imparcialidad\u00bb a una \u00abconcepci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica de la justicia\u00bb supone una perdida neta en la capacidad normativa de las intuiciones igualitaristas fundamentales de rawls. En este segundo contexto, se revisa detalladamente la cr\u00edtica que el propio rawls endereza contra la supuesta comprehensividad de la justicia como imparcialidad y la inclusi\u00f3n de \u00e9sta en el terreno de un discutible concepto de pluralismo razonable. De igual manera, se ofrece un an\u00e1lisis detallado de los conceptos de cultura pol\u00edtica, concepci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica de la justicia, lo razonable y la noci\u00f3n misma de
