Estos hallazgos sugieren una utilidad potencial de diversos antioxidantes en el tratamiento de pacientes con esta enfermedad. Para evaluar el posible papel de factores prooxidantes o antioxidantes presentes en la dieta en el riesgo para la enfermedad de parkinson realizamos un estudio diet\u00e9tico retrospectivo caso-control, con el fin de detectar diferencias en el consumo prem\u00f3rbido de alimentos ricos en sustancias antioxidantes (vitamina a, e, c, betacarotenos, zn, se) y prooxidantes (hierro, cobre, manganeso) entre los pacientes y sus c\u00f3nyuges empleados como grupo de control. Aplicamos un cuestionario diet\u00e9tico, referido a los per\u00edodos pre- y postmarital, sobre 91 alimentos a 119 pacientes (64 hombres y 55 mujeres; edad 65.3 +_ 8,5 a\u00f1os) y al grupo control (55 hombres y 64 mujeres; edad: 65.0 +_ 9.2 a\u00f1os). La encuesta premarital mostr\u00f3 un menor consumo de guisantes en los pacientes que en los controles. En la encuesta postmarital observamos una tendencia a una mayor consumo de arroz, pescado azul, huevos y foiegr\u00e1s, y un uso menor de t\u00e9 en los enfermos. No encontramos diferencias en el consumo alimentario de vitaminas e, a, zinc y manganeso entre los pacientes y los controles. Los resultados de este trabajo respecto al consumo alimentario de vitamina c, hierro, cobre y selenio son contradictorios. Estos resultados cuestionan el posible papel de los h\u00e1bitos diet\u00e9ticos prem\u00f3rbidos en el riesgo para la enfermedad de parkinson.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
