Soledad <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Hemos estudiado la expresi\u00f3n de la sintasa inducible de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico en los monocitos humanos de pacientes con distintas enfermedades autoinmunes. Se detect\u00f3 una gran inducci\u00f3n de esta enzima en monocitos de pacientes con esclerosis m\u00faltiple y la enfermedad de graves. Mediante an\u00e1lisis inmunofenot\u00edpico de leucocitos de sangre perif\u00e9rica de pacientes con esclerosis m\u00faltiple, se observ\u00f3 que los monocitos presentaban un estado de activaci\u00f3n y diferenciaci\u00f3n mayor al encontrado en los donantes sanos. Precisamente la inos se encontr\u00f3 en estas subpoblaciones de monocitos maduros y activados. El \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico producido los monocitos parece tener un efecto regulador sobre la expresi\u00f3n de hla-dr y la producci\u00f3n de tnfa. Estos resultados sugieren que la inos de los monocitos desempe\u00f1a un papel en la patog\u00e9nesis de la esclerosis m\u00faltiple y posiblemente en otras enfermedades autoinmunes. Por otro lado, hemos podido inducir la expresi\u00f3n de la inos con b-endorfina, un neurop\u00e9ptido liberado en situaciones de estr\u00e9s.
