Jose <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico es una importante mol\u00e9cula mensajera ampliamente distribuida por el organismo e implicada en diversas funciones tanto en condiciones fisiol\u00f3gicas como patol\u00f3gicas. Su s\u00edntesis est\u00e1 catalizada por la sintasa de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico (nos). En mam\u00edferos existen gran cantidad de estudios referidos a su localizaci\u00f3n y diversas funciones mientras que en vertebrados no mam\u00edferos son muy escasos. Por ello, este trabajo tiene por objeto la localizaci\u00f3n de la nos en el aparato digestivo de un pez (salmo gairdneri) dos anfibios (rana temporaria y xenopus laevis) y dos reptiles (podarcis hispanica\/muralis y natrix maura). Se ha detectado la presencia de nos mediante t\u00e9cnicas histoqu\u00edmicas e inmunocitoqu\u00edmicas en plexos nerviosos, diversos tipos de c\u00e9lulas epiteliales, endotelio y m\u00fasculo liso vascular, m\u00fasculo liso y estriado de la pared del tracto digestivo y c\u00e9lulas intersticiales de cajal de las cinco especies estudiadas.
