Tras un estudio preliminar en donde se comprob\u00f3 que la cantidad de col\u00e1geno hep\u00e1tico disminu\u00eda en h\u00edgado de animales cirr\u00f3ticos tratados durante s\u00f3lo 5 d\u00edas, en este trabajo se confirm\u00f3 este efecto de igf-i en animales tratados durante 14 y 21 d\u00edas. Tras estos hallazgos se plante\u00f3 estudiar a que nivel actuaba el factor de crecimiento en los animales tratados durante 14 d\u00edas.  para ello se estudi\u00f3 la actividad de la enzima prolilhidroxilasa y se cuantific\u00f3 el m-rna de la cadena alfa1 del col\u00e1geno tipo i y iii encontr\u00e1ndose una menor actividad enzim\u00e1tica y una menor cantidad de los m-rna de col\u00e1geno en los animales que recibieron tratamiento.  tambi\u00e9n se cuantific\u00f3 el n\u00famero de miofibroblastos, mediante inmunohistoqu\u00edmica de alfa-actina, y se comprob\u00f3 un claro descenso en los animales tratados.
