Por resultados de nuestro grupo se conoce la malabsorci\u00f3n de l\u00edpidos y az\u00facares en estadios incipientes de la hepatopat\u00eda.  en la cirrosis hep\u00e1tica experimental, compensada y asc\u00edtica, se produce disminuci\u00f3n de la absorci\u00f3n intestinal de amino\u00e1cidos, que mejora total o parcialmente tras el tratamiento con igf-i. En estadios avanzados de la enfermedad existe malabsorci\u00f3n de d-galactosa que mejora con igf-i. La elongaci\u00f3n del microvilli observada en la cirrosis compensada evoluciona a atrofia con acortamiento y destrucci\u00f3n del mismo en estadios m\u00e1s avanzados de la hepatopat\u00eda. El tratamiento con igf-i mejora dicha alteraci\u00f3n morfol\u00f3gica por mecanismos a\u00fan no explorados. La menor absorci\u00f3n intestinal de galactosa no est\u00e1 relacionada con la disminuci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna transportadora de az\u00facares sglt-1, ni con una deficiente
