La reacci\u00f3n de stille es la reacci\u00f3n de acoplamiento cruzado entre organoestannanos y electr\u00f3filos org\u00e1nicos catalizada por pd y su aplicaci\u00f3n en s\u00edntesis org\u00e1nica est\u00e1 siendo cada vez m\u00e1s generalizada.  se ha demostrado que la reacci\u00f3n de stille permite obtener, de manera totalmente estereoselectiva y en buen rendimiento \u00e1cido retinoico as\u00ed como una serie de an\u00e1logos de dicho compuesto. La evaluaci\u00f3n de la actividad biol\u00f3gica de todos estos an\u00e1logos ha permitido establecer relaciones estructura-actividad que ayudar\u00e1n a una mejor compresi\u00f3n de la estructura del bolsillo hidrof\u00f3bico de las prote\u00ednas que interaccionan espec\u00edficamente con los retinoides y que pertenecen a la superfamilia de receptores
