La habilidad de predicci\u00f3n del modelo depende de la selecci\u00f3n de las muestras de calibraci\u00f3n y sensores implicados en el modelo. En la presente tesis se han utilizado criterios del dise\u00f1o de experimentos (d-optimalidad, entre otros) y diversos algoritmos de optimizaci\u00f3n para:  a) en la regresi\u00f3n sobre componentes principales (pcr), proponer un m\u00e9todo para seleccionar, a partir de una lista de muestras candidatas, las mejores muestras de calibraci\u00f3n. Los modelos construidos con estas muestras tienen una habilidad de predicci\u00f3n superior que los contruidos seleccionando las muestras aleatoriamente.  b) en la regresi\u00f3n por min\u00edmos cuadrados cl\u00e1sicos (cls), interpretar la influencia de diversos criterios de selecci\u00f3n de sensores sobre la exactitud y precisi\u00f3n de las predicciones. Se utiliz\u00f3 la regi\u00f3n de confianza de las concentraciones predichas para proponer nuevos criterios de selecci\u00f3n.
