Se plante\u00f3, en primer lugar, una aproximaci\u00f3n a la historia de la esclavitud, posteriormente, de la capoeira y su papel a trav\u00e9s de sus diferentes formas de manifestaci\u00f3n. Por tanto, este estudio trata en concreto del papel que desempe\u00f1a la capoeira en la inserci\u00f3n y participaci\u00f3n de los capoeiristas en el sistema de vida de salvador. Es un estudio de la capoeira como una manifestaci\u00f3n cultural de resistencia frente a la esclavitud. La capoeira sobrevive hoy en brasil, construye y reconstruye identidades de capoeiristas y del contexto urbano en que est\u00e1 ubicada, mediante estructuras organizadas que los protagonistas
