Dado que la ap-pcr permite la detecci\u00f3n de desequilibrios gen\u00f3micos, nuestro primer inter\u00e9s se ha centrado en la cuantificaci\u00f3n del da\u00f1o gen\u00f3mico acumulado en forma de de ganancias y p\u00e9rdidas. A continuaci\u00f3n hemos relacionado el da\u00f1o gen\u00f3mico con los par\u00e1metros cl\u00ednico-patol\u00f3gicos y moleculares y se ha analizado su utilidad pron\u00f3stica. Tras el dise\u00f1o de un m\u00e9todo sencillo de localizaci\u00f3n cromos\u00f3mica simult\u00e1nea de los fragmentos de ap-pcr mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de un panel de h\u00edbridos humano\/roedor, se demostr\u00f3 que la ap-pcr era \u00fatil para llevar a cabo un cariotipo molecular. De manera que un segundo inter\u00e9s ha sido la localizaci\u00f3n cromos\u00f3mica de las bandas de ap-pcr y la identificaci\u00f3n de cromosomas que pudieran tener importancia en la tumorig\u00e9nesis del c\u00e1ncer colorrectal, ya sea porque se presentan peor pron\u00f3stico. Tras considerar el cromosoma 4 de inter\u00e9s se llev\u00f3 a cabo un estudio m\u00e1s detallado en el que se precisaron regiones cromos\u00f3micas potencialmente ligadas a genes supresores tumores
