El envejecimiento ocurre en la fase ferritica por descomposicion espinoidal en zonas ricas en cr y fe.  el envejecimiento afecta las propiedades mecanicas, tanto mas cuanto mayor es la proporcion de ferrita. Hay aumento del limite elastico y de la resistencia a la traccion y disminucion de alargamiento y estriccion. La tenacidad de la fractura disminuye, llegandose a un valor de saturacion de 40 mpa m1\/2 y la energia de activacion varia de 80kj mol-1 para 425-475c hasta 200 kj mol-2 para 325-425c. El valor umbral de propagacion de grietas es de 20 mpa m1\/2.  se ha puesto de manifiesto el papel de ligamiento ductil que desempe\u00f1a la fase austenitica dentro de una matriz fragil. En el acero envejecido la austenita produce un efecto de \u00abbridging\u00bb que forma la propagacion de la grieta.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
