La variaci\u00f3n entre las cepas fue bastante baja (0.21% a nivel de amino\u00e1cidos y 0.17% a nivel de nucle\u00f3tidos). Tal y como se ha observado en otros estudios, no se mostr\u00f3 ninguna evidencia de que las distintas cepas pudieran agruparse en subgrupos an\u00e1logos a los de las variantes halladas para el herpesvirus humano 6(hhv-6).  asimismo, tambi\u00e9n se clon\u00f3 y expres\u00f3 el gen en dos vectores distintos para la obtenci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas de fusi\u00f3n con la galactosidasa y con la glutati\u00f3n-s-transferasa (gst) empleando esta \u00faltima para inmunizar conejos. Tales anticuerpos policlonales reaccionaron en inmunoblots con el ant\u00edgeno m\u00e1s inmunoreactivo de hhv-7, una prote\u00edna de 89 kda. Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n se llevaron a cabo experimentos de adsorci\u00f3n con las prote\u00ednas recombinantes o con el sobrenadante de c\u00e9lulas infectadas con hhv-7; una prote\u00edna de 89 kda.  adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n se llevaron a cabo experimentos de adsorci\u00f3n con las prote\u00ednas recombinantes o con el sobrenadante de c\u00e9lulas infectadas con hhv-7; en ambos casos, cuando el suero absorbido se ensay\u00f3 en inumunoblots con prote\u00ednas vilares o con las expresadas por las bacterias, las correspondientes bandas desaparecieron. Ello condujo a una aun m\u00e1s clara evidencia de que la orf u11 codifica para la prote\u00edna de 89 kda (89k).  los anticuerpos monoclonales descritos en trabajos anteriores en experimentos de radioinmunoprecipataci\u00f3n que reaccionan contra una prote\u00edna de 85 kda (pp85), no reaccionaron con las prote\u00ednas de fusi\u00f3n. As\u00ed, puede concluirse que pp85 es distinta de 89k, y, por tanto, no es codificada por u11.  tanto las prote\u00ednas recombinantes creadas como los anticuerpos policlonales generados
