Una de estas propiedades es la apoptosis neuronal, un proceso de muerte celular fisiol\u00f3gica que est\u00e1 estrechamente ligado al desarrollo del sistema nervioso y cuya inducci\u00f3n inapropiada se ha relacionado con procesos degenerativos como la enfermedad de alzheimer o la enfermedad de huntington. En este trabajo se ha puesto de manifiesto que durante la apoptosis de las c\u00e9lulas granulares inducida por la disminuci\u00f3n del k+ extracelular se produce un incremento en el nivel de especies reactivas, que puede ser prevenido con agentes antioxidantes como sod o ascorbato. Estas especies reactivas pueden provocar un da\u00f1o severo en la estructura del dna activando sistemas de reparaci\u00f3n como la poli (adp-ribosa) polimerasa, cuya participaci\u00f3n en la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de la apoptosis hemos descrito mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de inhibidores espec\u00edficos de esta actividad. Puesto que la inhibici\u00f3n de la \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico sintasa bloquea la apoptosis, el \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico parece estar implicado en este proceso. Sin embargo la adici\u00f3n de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico ex\u00f3geno a los cultivos de c\u00e9lulas granulares presenta un efecto dual, promoviendo la viabilidad o provocando la muerte neuronal en funci\u00f3n de su concentraci\u00f3n. En conclusi\u00f3n, el balance de especies reactivas de ox\u00edgeno y nitr\u00f3geno modula la supervivencia y la muerte de las c\u00e9lulas granulares en cultivo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
