Se ha realizado un m\u00e9todo espectrofotom\u00e9trico basado en la reacci\u00f3n metacrom\u00e1tica originada por el 1,9 azul dimetilmetileno (dmb), para cuantificar la excreci\u00f3n urinaria de glicosaminoglicanos. para optimizar el m\u00e9todo, se han estudiado los factores que inciden directamente sobre \u00e9l: ph de reacci\u00f3n, longitud de onda y tiempo de reacci\u00f3n. Dicha cuantificaci\u00f3n se ha aplicado en una muestra de 632 ni\u00f1os y adolescentes, con edades comprendidas entre 1 mes y 18 a\u00f1os. Los resultados obtenidos (expresados como mg de clicosaminoglicanos por mmol de creatinina) han permitido establecer unos valores de normalidad para cada grupo de edad (especificidad 99%). As\u00ed mismo se pudo realizar el estudio de la excreci\u00f3n en 4 casos diagnosticados de mucopolisacaridosis (sensibilidad 100%).
